What Were the Circumstances of Your Birth? HOW did I turn into who I am today? The boy above had a VERY traumatic birth. He cannot write, or read. He cannot cross a street alone. He becomes fixated on whatever his mind thinks about and that is then ALL he can think about. I think about the MANY aspects of this question. Were you RICH or POOR? Were you with Happy or sad parents? Were they healthy people? Were you from a war torn country? Were you loved and nurtured? How often did you cry? The mystery of understanding a newborn for even the best circumstances are such a challenge. But people get older . Whatever happened is tucked away in the depths of their soul and then real life and whatever and whomever they become is in place. Have you ever heard yourself say" I know that adult had a hard childhood. " as if you are explaining to yourself the reason for who and why that person is in the situation he is in today? When my children DO and SAY the things they do I find my own mind going back to the past. Wondering , wishing , agonizing sometimes, and most of all HOPING that there was more Good then bad and that the good will triumph and make them a success. Sometimes the bigger mystery is when you assume the happiest best days of a persons's life were at the beginning and yet some OTHER circumstance erases the good start. An accident, a bad experience, an unforeseen health emergency, a horrific event. We are all in a world where we need to CARE for one another and help each other through our own separate darkness we all have to grope through . Just realize we are NOT alone in our sadnesses but as long as we are TRYING to reach out to others we will find our way. |
